1. Thailand TFDA Regulatory authority profile

Thailand Food and Drug Administration It is the main government agency responsible for regulating cosmetics in Thailand. TFDA's main functions include regulatory development, filing review, market surveillance, and public education.

3. The definition of Thai cosmetics
According to the Thai FDA, products that are considered cosmetics must meet the definition of Article 4 of the Cosmetics Act, B.E. 2558 (2015). The Act defines cosmetics as:
①Articles intended to be rubbed, rubbed, massaged, sprinkled on, sprayed, dripped on, smeared, applied, scented or otherwise applied to external parts of the human body (including teeth and mucous membranes applied to the mouth) for the purpose of cleaning, beautifying or altering their appearance or preventing body odour, or to protect or keep parts in good condition; Includes skin care products, but does not include decorations and accessories used outside the body;
②Substances specifically used as ingredients in the manufacture of cosmetics;
③Any other article defined by ministerial regulations as cosmetic.

2. Filing cycle and official fees
The audit cycle is about 4-8. The week will be extended according to the increase in the degree of control of cosmetic products, and the specific situation will be subject to actual conditions.
The official fee is THB 1000 per product.

A1:Three years.
Q:Can the owner of the registered product of Thailand cosmetics renew the Notification of cosmetics?
A:Yes, it can be renewed 6 months before the expiration date of the Notification.
Q:Do you need Thai labels to sell imported cosmetics in Thailand?
A:You must.
Q:Are there any special requirements for the Thai cosmetic filing for product claims?
A:If there are claims on the cosmetic label, such as whitening, moisturizing, anti-wrinkle, etc., there must be the corresponding scientific basis and test reports and other valid evidence to support the product's claims.
