Food products in Thailand are divided into three categories: specially controlled foods, foods subject to mandatory labelling requirements, and general foods.

Thai food products are classified into four risk tiers (Category 1 to Category 4). High-risk products including special-purpose foods, infant and toddler foods, and specially controlled foods are subject to formal registration and must obtain an official Food Serial Number. General low-risk foods are not mandatorily required to complete product registration, yet they still need to fully comply with labelling, GMP and other regulatory standards for import and domestic distribution.Standard documentation to be prepared includes:Corporate Documents Business registration certificate, company articles of association, and Power of Attorney.Product Dossiers Full 100% ingredient formulation, product specification sheet and detailed manufacturing process description.Labelling & Packaging Materials Draft labels printed in Thai language that fully comply with Thailand’s food labelling regulations.Supporting Certifications Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) issued by the competent authority of the country of origin; manufacturing system certificates such as GMP, HACCP or ISO 22000 (or equivalent accredited standards); laboratory Certificates of Analysis (COA) covering microbiological indicators, heavy metal testing and nutritional profiling; stability and shelf-life test data (required for certain product types).Import-Related Credentials Licence for food import and storage premises, together with facility inspection reports.
